    Roles of Chief & Council

    The Chief and Council are responsible for:

    1. Establishing the mission of Cold Lake First Nations, and monitoring how the administration implements the mission;
    2. Representing and communicating the Cold Lake First Nations' mission to the membership of the Cold Lake First Nations, the community, goverments, funding agencies, foundations, and corporations;
    3. Developing community awareness regarding the purpose of the Cold Lake First Nations;
    4. Setting the long and short term goals of the Cold Lake First Nations;
    5. Developing of the governance and operational policies of the Cold Lake First Nations, and monitoring how the administration implements the framework;
    6. Providing accountability to the community and ensuring the continuity of the management and administration of the Cold Lake First Nations;
    7. Monitoring goverment legislation and advising government of the impact of proposed policies;
    8. Planning and conducting Band membership meetings;
    9. Reporting to the Band members on the programs and services offered by the Cold Lake First Nations and future plans;
    10. Participating in issue clarification and resolution;
