This department's objective is to better the quality of life for all band members, both today and
in the future. It focuses on maintaining a good standard of living, based on guidelines set out by
Health Canada. Various sub-divisions make up the
public works department as follows:
- Housing- addressing water delivery, renovations, construction of new homes, maintenance of current
homes
- Public Works- maintaining roads, signage and sewers.
- Environmental Services- responsible for providing safe drinking water, collecting household refuse,
recycling, and removing solid waste.
- Fire Department- an active self-sufficient department fully trained to handle any situation
e.g. grass/structure fire
- Capital Projects- initiating any projects that will enhance the lifestyle of CLFN members,
e.g. building a new day care, building a casino
- Disaster Services- ensuring the safety and well being of all CLFN members in the event of a natural
or man made disaster
