Treaty Six Science Fair
The fair is held annually in February and all seventeen nations
participate. Le Goff School has been recognized by The Tribal Chiefs
Institute for their contribution to the science fair.
Science in Motion
Odysium program from the Telus World of Science Center is offered
every second year to coincide with the Science Fair.
Treaty Six Speech Contest
There are two components to the contest:
° English
° Aboriginal language – Primarily Cree or Dene. However any
other language that is spoken in Treaty Six member nations
languages can also participate.
This contest has been held annually for the past twelve years.
Dream Speakers Festival in Edmonton
Six students and one youth coordinator attend this conference.
The students compete for the honour of attending by writing an essay
explaining why they should go to the conference. The competition is
open to all the youth in CFLN, regardless of the school they attend.
Sciber Mentoring Program
° Spokesperson– Albey Pei For young girls that want to pursue education with majors in science
and/or math.
Computer Training
Le Goff School has a computer lab set up for the student’s use.
Teachers are encouraged to incorporate computer use into all subject
areas.
Author for a Day
A program sponsored by Young Alberta Book Society. As a member of
the Society, the school schedules an Alberta author to come to the to
talk to students about their books.
