Please find attached the CLAWR access letter for August 17–24, 2026, along with the poster for Cold Lake First Nations Heritage Days 2026, taking place from August 15–31, 2026.
Heritage Days will bring CLFN members and land users together at Fish Camp, Suckerville, and surrounding traditional-use areas for camping, cultural programming, and land-based activities. Activities will include fishing, canoeing, fish smoking, archery, traditional arts, and opportunities to learn from Elders and knowledge holders.
A shuttle service will be available on the following dates:
- August 21–23
- August 26–30
The daily shuttle route and schedule is:
- 8:30 a.m. – Meet at the CLFN Band Office
- 9:00 a.m. – Leave the Band Office

9:15 a.m. – Pick up members at the Lakeland Inn Parking Lot

9:30 a.m. – Leave the Lakeland Inn Parking Lot
- 9:45 a.m. – Arrive at English Bay Community Centre
- 10:00 a.m. – Leave English Bay
- 11:00 a.m. – Arrive at Primrose Lake Fish Camp
- 5:30 p.m. – Leave Fish Camp and return passengers to their original pickup locations
Passengers should be at their pickup location before the scheduled departure time. Everyone using the shuttle must sign in when boarding and sign out when returning.
Members and land users planning to attend Heritage Days are asked to complete the registration form below. This will help us plan for attendance, camping locations, and activities:
Suckerville access is currently planned to begin Saturday, August 15 at 9:00 a.m., at the earliest, depending on DND operational requirements. Access is expected to continue until Sunday, August 30 at 4:00 p.m.
Anyone travelling to or from Suckerville must check in at the main gate before continuing. Direct travel between Fish Camp and Suckerville is not permitted. Travellers must return to the main gate, check in, and receive clearance before travelling in either direction. This allows Range Control and gate staff to track movement and make the required radio calls for safe travel within the range.
CLAWR orientation and access requirements
Every staff member, community member, guest, and minor must complete the self-paced CLAWR orientation before entering the CLAWR:
A signed Appendix B form is also required for every participant after completing the orientation, so they can be added to the master access list. At the Primrose Gate, CMRE staff will check government-issued ID, so please ensure all members, guests, and minors are on the approved access list before travelling. Children under 12 are not required to bring government-issued ID, although it is encouraged where possible.
