Cold Lake, AB – Cold Lake First Nations (CLFNS) will hold a Council Election on June 25, 2025, to elect six (6) Councillors. We are pleased to announce that the final list of eligible candidates has now been released.
Each nominee has met the requirements set out in the Cold Lake First Nations Election Law (1986) and will appear on the ballot. Eligible voters will have the opportunity to cast their ballots either online or in person.
We are also proud to share that Chief Kelsey Jacko has been re-elected as Chief, receiving a total of 431 votes in the recent Chief election which occurred on June 18, 2025.

To vote online, electors must sign up with their 10-digit Status card number (starting with “464…”), date of birth, and a valid email address.
Eligibility Requirements:
To be eligible for nomination, candidates must meet various criteria including age, citizenship, residence, and moral character. Specific qualifications differ for Chief and Councillor positions and are detailed in the Cold Lake First Nations Election Law.
Of special note, individuals who have outstanding debts of over $3,000 to the CLFNS administration or have been convicted of a criminal offence within the past five years are not eligible to run for office.
